Notifying users of a post or a page
If the logged-in user has the required capability, inside a post edition page, a related link (under the save button) allows to get to the notification page. The subject and the body of the notification email are set inside the options page. The logged-in user must then:
- Choose to which users or user groups he wants to send the notification.
- Press the button at the bottom of the page.
Note: the post must have been saved before we attempt to notify users about it.
Sending a mail to a user
If the logged-in user has the required capability, a new item menu labelled "Email" appears under the "Write" menu of the control panel. This will bring him to the email page.
Depending on the capabilities he has, the user can select if he wants to send the mail to a group or to a selection of individual users. He can then:
- Choose the mail format (HTML or plain text)
- Select the recipients from the list
- Type the subject and body of the email
- Press the button at the bottom of the page
