This portrait of a peruvian wine grower has been made on christmas day. This person was happy, opened and eager to chat with people who had come to see the place. He is holding a wine bottle of his own production and one of the two glasses we had for 5 people. Usually in Peru, there are fewer glasses than drinkers, so the tradition is to serve yourself a glass, pass the bottle to the person you want to be next, drink your glass and pass it.

This image is around one year old. Taken during a week-end trip to Etretat, I felt like remembering this magical sunset on this day of Christmas. I wish you a merry Christmas.

Not one but two pictures of the week this time! Indeed, I found funny to put together those two school pictures. The one on the left dates back to the late 20’s. My grand father is the kid on the bottom-left corner. The one on the right dates back to 1960. My father is the kid with plastic boots, I guess it was rainy that day Both pictures are from the same school in the little village named Huparlac, in northern Aveyron, France.

Error: Thumb not found for item 2984
While having a lunch in Badami, we had the funny idea to order a “paper dosa”, a kind of thin pancake made out of water and soaked rice. What a surprise when they brought this giant piece of food, surely four time as big as the little stomach of Alexandra!

Four weeks ago, I had placed here a portrait of my grandfather as the picture of the week. This week, I think a lot about my grandmother and here is her portrait. There are times when you are far away and pictures help you a lot to feel at home.

Berlin is a city with a particular history. I was sad to see that little by little the old buildings from the russian government are being destroyed to make room for new projects. I guess that’s necessary in order to keep developping the city but I can’t help thinking that those were some of the symbols of the city. The picture presents some photos from the communist times with in the back, the modern TV tower.
