It seems that you liked the video of the truck ride so here is another one. As the previous one, I shot it when, after a jungle trek, we came back to the closest city by truck. On this one you can see at the end some flashing red and green lights: these are LEDs around the portraits of 3 indian gods, in charge of protecting the truck, bringing luck to us. A big job indeed

Here is one more video from the jungle. Some of you were curious and scared by leeches. There’s no reason for that, leeches are clean and they get removed easily with some salt.

The funky bus trip over, we arrived in Agra, the city of Taj Mahal, the most famous place in India. I must say that the visit of the Taj would be a very nice thing. However, I was shocked by the price of the entry ticket (750 Rps). But I would not need to worry about that…

That’s it, my trip to India is now over. I came back on May 27th and I am now in Toulouse were I have started to work for CLS, my new company, which will send me in september for 18 months in Lima, Peru. I was not able to write as much as I wanted to during the trip so I will be updating this blog from now on in order to share some more texts and pictures with you.

After a nice trip organised by our hosts in bikaner, we’ll move by night to our next touristic spot: Jaipur. Although it is a famous place, I found it less interesting than Jodhpur. Tiredness, Bangalore sickness and maybe not being too much in a touristic set of mind have prevented me to enjoy the place as much as one could.

6 and a half hours after leaving Jodhpur in a local bus, and a few pictures on the way, we finally reach Bikaner which will allow us to get a view over the Thar desert.

After a long trip in the bus, we finally reach Jodhpur. The first tought coming to my mind will be: “why blue city?! The houses are no blue houses here”. The sun is burning, my watch indicates a good 40 degrees.

After a good night in Pankaj’s house, we are starting to plan the trip, along with the constraints that we have. First, it should be rather short because we shall be back in Bangalore as soon as possible. Then, we have to choose between the coldness and isolation of Leh and the heat of Rajasthan. Although I would have enjoyed some nature in the Himalayas, the 2-way trip to Leh would take itself almost a week. Thus, the decision is taken: this time we’ll see Rajasthan.

The day has come, I have left my job in Paris and before starting my new contract which will bring me from Toulouse, France to Lima, Peru, I have planned to spend 5 weeks in India in order to meet my friends from the Indian climbing team.
